On Saturday 25th of April, Nepal was hit by an earthquake measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale which caused widespread devastation, not just in Nepal but also in India, Tibet and Bangladesh. Early reports place the death toll in the region of 4,000 to 5,000 people with that number expected to rise as the recovery operation continues. In the high mountain regions a number of avalanches were triggered by the earthquake. Everest base camp was one of the areas affected with the avalanche claiming the lives of at least eighteen people at the site. To assist with the ongoing recovery effort in the region, EpicTV will be donating 10% of all of our revenue for the next two weeks to the Red Cross. If you wish to donate directly, you can do so by visiting www.redcross.org or your charity of choice.
Lastly today, we're taking a look at the defineFEMININE campaign, recently launched by outdoor clothing brand Arc'teryx. To find out more about the project we spoke to UK climber and Arc'teryx athlete Mina Leslie-Wujastyk.
